Although they cost a little more to buy, these up-front costs are made up with savings on your electric bill in just a few years. They also come with great additional benefits – Energy Star® front-loading clothes washers spin clothes so completely they dry very quickly in a dryer or on a clothes line.

Rebates Available:

  • Energy Star® Clothes Washer: $50 (water heater must be electric)
  • Energy Star® Clothes Dryer: $50 (electric dryers only)

Smart Thermostat

Installing a smart thermostat can save you money on your central heating/cooling system, increase the comfort of your home and be connected to your smart phone through your wireless network. Smart thermostats are extremely accurate, programmable, and use advanced algorithms to reduce the amount of energy used for heating and cooling your home. To qualify for a rebate, the thermostat must be listed on the BPA Smart Thermostat Qualified Products list (PDF).

Energy Star® LED Light Fixtures

light fixtureBy replacing the five most frequently used light fixtures in your home with Energy Star® qualified models, you can save money in energy costs. Light fixtures that have earned the Energy Star® combine quality and attractive design with the highest levels of energy efficiency available today.

Rebates Available:

  • Hard-Wired Energy Star® Light Fixture – $5 per fixture (Rebate will not exceed 70% of the purchase price)

Heat Pump Water Heaters

heat pump water heaterWater heating accounts for 15-20% of electric energy use in homes with electric water heaters. Some new electric heat pump water heaters (HPWH) have demonstrated savings of up to 50% or more of a home’s water heating energy use. Not all homes are well suited for a HPWH, so Central Lincoln encourages you to talk to your contractor or call our Energy Experts at 888–883–9879 for more details.

Rebates Available:

Rebates will not exceed 100% of total heat pump water heater cost and does not cover installation costs.

  • Tier 1:  $300
  • Tier 2-3:  $500

Residential Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate Program Application & General Information (PDF)

For site built or manufactured homes; must replace an existing electric storage water heater; qualified models only.

In order to be eligible for the HPWH program, the unit must be replacing an existing electric water heater and be installed by a contractor who has attended a Smart Water Heat orientation.
