Every month, there are people in our service territory who need help with their utility bills due to unexpected medical emergencies, unemployment, or life circumstances. Project Care is supported entirely by voluntary contributions from our customers.
All funds donated are turned over to local service agencies for distribution to Central Lincoln customers who need assistance with their electric bills. Central Lincoln doesn’t retain any of the money donated for administrative purposes. Eligibility for receiving help from this program is determined by the local agencies using Low Income Heating & Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) income guidelines.
Project Care is a simple way to make a big difference in someone’s life. If you would like to help, there are several ways to contribute.
Project Care One Time Donation
This option gives you the flexibility to donate what you can — when you can — without any commitment for the times you can’t. Simply write the amount you wish to donate in the “Project Care Donation” box located underneath the “Total Amount Due After” box on the bottom right hand side of your electric bill remittance stub. Add your donation amount to the amount due and write a check for the total amount. If you’d prefer to make your Project Care donation through a separate check, please make the check payable to the “Project Care Program.” Donations are tax-deductible.
Project Care Round-Up
If you’d like to help by having your bill “rounded up” each month, let us know via email at CustomerSvc@cencoast.com or by calling us at (877) 265–3211 and your bill will be “rounded up” to the next even dollar amount. For example, a bill of $55.54, would be $56 under Round-Up, and that extra 46¢ would go directly to the Project Care Program.
Under Round-Up, the average amount donated by customers is 51¢ per month, or $6.12 per year. That amount may not seem like a lot, but if thousands of customers participate, many seniors and families in need can be helped.
This option is not available to customers on Budget Billing, because those bills are already rounded to the nearest dollar.
Project Care Monthly Pledge
Simply select an amount you’d like to donate each month and we will automatically add that amount to your monthly bill. This option is available to customers on Budget Billing. Call us at (877) 265-3211 or send us an e-mail at CustomerSvc@cencoast.com.
