The Story Behind That New Barcode on Our Bills

We offer many ways to pay our bills, and we are leveraging technology to give customers another option.

Some of our customers prefer using cash to pay their bills. And we know getting to one of our offices in Florence, Newport or Reedsport to make a cash payment isn’t convenient for everyone. The barcodes now shown on every Central Lincoln bill will help solve this issue.

The barcode on your bill is unique to your account. Thanks to a new service called VanillaDirect Pay, our customers can pay their Central Lincoln bills at multiple stores locally, and at 40,000 locations nationwide, using the new barcodes. Need to make a payment in the evening or on a weekend? Not a problem—Dollar General, Walgreens, Walmart*, and participating 7-Eleven locations are among the stores on the Central Coast that take cash payments using VanillaDirect Pay.

Simply show your Central Lincoln barcode to a cashier at a participating store. (The barcode is on our paper bills, on the “Pay My Bill” section of our website and in the Central Lincoln SmartHub app). The cashier will scan your barcode, take your cash payment plus a $1.50 convenience fee, and the funds will be credited to your Central Lincoln account within minutes. (In the event an account has been disconnected for non-payment, a payment made this way will trigger an automatic reconnect.)
