Curious About Electric Vehicles? Want to Take a Test Drive?

Join Us at the Drive Electric Earth Day Electric Vehicle Showcase Saturday, April 30 in Newport! An electric vehicle plugged in with a solar panel and the sun beside it and the text Drive Electric Earth Day below

Fueling an electric vehicle at home is cheaper than buying gasoline – that was true even a few years ago when gas prices were much lower. But the spike in gas prices has fueled increased interest in electric vehicles – from Arcimotos made in Eugene, to plug in gas-electric hybrids known as PHEVs – and 100% electric vehicles.

We love helping our customers save money, so we are sponsoring an electric vehicle showcase at Atonement Lutheran Church at 2315 Highway 101 in Newport (just south of Taco Bell). We will have a wide variety of EVs, from an Arcimoto SRK 1, to a Polestar, a Ford Focus EV, a Honda Clarity PHEV, a Kia EV6, two Ford Mustang Mach-Es, Kias, VWs, and various Teslas, nearly all of them owned by Central Lincoln customers.

Some of the EVs will be available for test drives, too, and the owners of the EVs will be available to answer questions. Copies of Electric Car Insider’s EV Buyers’ Guide will be available free to everyone who stops by.

“This is a terrific way for anyone interested in driving electric to find out what electric vehicles are all about,” says Debbie Jimmerson, co-chair of the EVent, who has been driving electric vehicles exclusively for nine years.

“There are so many makes and models of electric vehicles to choose from these days, and each one has different strengths.”

Since Central Lincoln’s electricity is nearly 98% carbon-free, driving electric reduces air pollution, too, which is one of the reasons Atonement Lutheran Church was willing to allow its spacious parking lot to be used for the EVent.
