Is ‘Charging Station Anxiety’ Worrying You About Driving Electric?

One of the questions customers most frequently ask when considering an electric vehicle (EV) is ‘…where do I charge??’
Studies have shown 80% of EV charging is done at home, as nearly all of today’s EVs come with a charging cord that plugs into any standard electric outlet. Some EV drivers have an electrician install a Level 2 charging station for faster charging (using the same type of outlet clothes dryers use—220V) but some EV drivers find their Level 1 charging cord is enough for their needs.
Taking trips miles from home is important too, and the answer to ‘where do I charge?’ is easily found online at plugshare.com. Plugshare is a website that maps virtually all of the publicly-accessible charging stations in the U.S., and provides comprehensive detail on each station, including whether or not the station is in use, and amenities nearby. Plugshare is also available as a free app for smart phones. Central Lincoln is supporting regional efforts to expand chaging infrastructure, and as part of the remodel of our Florence facility, we are installing two Level 2 EV charging stations for customers to use.
